river trip is one of the most popular and best ways to explore a
typical cross-section of the country's natural as well as
ethno-cultural heritage. The river is regarded as sacrosanct and
is used for religious rituals such as cremation under both
Hinduism and Buddhism. The adjoining slopes of the riverbed
often harbor dense vegetation and interesting wildlife. Several

are looking for adrenaline pumping excitement and nerve soothing
marine tranquility, Nepal's river provides the ultimate
opportunity. The picturesque landscape and the magnificent
mountains provide a perfect backdrop to soothe anxiety-ridden
nerves.
There are numerous rivers of different grades for rafting and
canoeing in Nepal. Adventure Monalisa provides expert river

The rapids are graded on a scale of one to six depending on how

little or no obstacles. Class 2 and 3 rivers generally are fast
moving with some obstacles and smaller to medium size rapids.
Class 4 rivers have long, continuous sections of white water and
large waves, which requires strong paddling and good teamwork in
the boat. Class 5 rivers have powerful prolonged sections of
rapids and big holes, which require very strong paddling and
preferably some previous rafting experience. Class 6 is
considered to be almost impossible to run.
